Akwa Ibom State Governor Pastor Umo Eno has urged Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu, stating that the country’s economic challenges were inherited and not created by the current administration.
Speaking to journalists after a meeting with Vice President Kashim Shettima in Abuja on Tuesday, Eno described Tinubu’s first two years in office as “wonderful,” noting his administration’s commitment to resolving Nigeria’s long-standing problems.
“President Tinubu didn’t create the economic hardship we’re facing. I believe he is doing his best and should be supported to finish strong,” Eno said.
Highlighting achievements in Akwa Ibom, the governor noted progress in education, healthcare, road construction, and rural development.

“Our first two years focused on grassroots development. Now, we’re transitioning into major infrastructure to position Akwa Ibom as a tourism and economic hub,” he stated.
Eno praised the leadership legacy in the state, acknowledging the contributions of past governors, including Victor Attah, Godswill Akpabio, and Udom Emmanuel.
On youth development, he emphasized skills training, entrepreneurship, and job creation. “We’ve launched an employment portal and are supporting SMEs to rebuild the middle class,” he said.
Governor Eno also stressed the importance of partnerships with the federal government and private sector to unlock Akwa Ibom’s full potential.
“Our goal is inclusive growth driven by collaboration and strategic planning,” he concluded.
