A deeply troubling incident has unfolded as 15 students and their school director have gone missing after traveling from Onitsha to Okigwe, Imo State for their rescheduled JAMB exams. The students, along with their school owner, his wife, and their driver, left early in the morning but have not been heard from since.
According to reports, the students were rescheduled to write their exams at a different center, forcing them to travel to Okigwe. However, since their departure, none of their phone numbers have been reachable, leaving their families in distress. A Facebook conversation shared online reveals the growing panic among relatives, with one message stating, “The families have been wailing since then.”
The incident has sparked widespread concern on social media, with many questioning the decision to relocate students to different states for their exams.

JAMB had recently admitted to errors in the 2025 UTME examinations and results, calling it a system glitch, after almost 80 per cent of students who sat for the exams failed. Students in Lagos State and the Southeast were most affected, and the agency rescheduled the exams for the affected students in the regions.
Some have criticized the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for failing to consider security risks while rescheduling the exams for the affected students.
Authorities have yet to release an official statement regarding the missing students. Meanwhile, families and concerned citizens continue to demand urgent action to locate them and ensure their safety.
