President Bola Tinubu was conferred with the chieftaincy title “Dike Si Mba” (Hero from another land) by traditional rulers in Anambra State during his official visit on May 8, 2025.
The honor, bestowed by the Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council led by Igwe Chidubem Iweka of Obosi, recognized Tinubu’s contributions to national development.
During the visit, Tinubu inaugurated several projects completed by Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration, including the state’s first Government House, marking a significant milestone over 30 years after Anambra’s creation.

In a significant political development, Governor Soludo announced that the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has officially adopted President Tinubu as its candidate for the 2027 presidential election.

Soludo emphasized that both APGA and Tinubu’s All Progressives Congress (APC) share a commitment to progressivism, stating, “Progressives are working together.”
This endorsement underscores a strategic alliance between APGA and the APC, reflecting a shared vision for Nigeria’s future.

Anambra State is the home of Peter Obi, who is Tinubu’s ardent critic. Analysts believe that Tinubu’s visit to Anambra State is aimed at scoring him a political point over his opponent from the East.
So far, this was Tinubu’s second visit to the east this year. He had visited Enugu State in January and commissioned some projects there under the administration of Peter Mbah.

In a Facebook post, President Tinubu praised Governor Soludo’s achievements during his visit to Anambra, highlighting the state’s rich culture and industrious people. He emphasized national unity, calling Nigerians one family living in different rooms of the same house. Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and urged collective effort to turn Nigeria’s blessings into a better life for all.
