Nigerian president Bola Tinubu called on Nigerian Armed Forces troops to put an end to the “threats of terrorism, banditry, and insurgency that have lingered for too long,” and Nigerians are hoping they will be able to stop the menace.
He continued to state that “domestic collaborators or foreign agents” who try to destabilise Nigeria must be arrested, as he vowed that the country would not succumb to fear, terror, or treachery.
During his working visit on Friday to the frontline troops of the Nigerian Armed Forces in Katsina State, the president reiterated his government’s commitment to national security and the well-being of its troops.

President Tinubu praised Nigerian troops for their bravery and called them the “shield of Nigeria,” reminding them to end terrorism, banditry, and insurgency.
He emphasized the significance of their work as the security pillar of the nation and promised to equip them with better weapons, intelligence, and better welfare.
Meanwhile, Amnesty International condemned the Nigerian government for its failure to safeguard citizens, citing recent massacres and continued attacks in northern communities as evidence of weak security and accountability.
