Students of Adamawa State Polytechnic, Yola, protested, closing all the gates to the institution due to incessant power outages and lack of water that have endured for a week.
This is the third protest in two months, with the students becoming more infuriated at the lack of basic services at the institution.
The persistent power outages have brought great disruption to their academic operations, with most of them unable to study and take care of basic needs as there is no electricity and water.

One student, speaking anonymously, voiced concerns about the impact on their studies, saying, “It’s hard to concentrate when the school is so uncomfortable.” Another added, “This is not the first time this is happening. We’ve protested before, but nothing changed.”
With examinations approaching, students are worried about how the disruptions will affect their academic performance. The demonstration is a call for the resumption of power and water supply immediately, and the students are urging the state government and the polytechnic management to move swiftly.
The institution authorities have remained quiet regarding the demonstration, yet the students remain firm in their insistence on a functioning learning facility.
