The head of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Francis, reportedly passed away on Easter Monday at his residence in the Vatican’s Casa Santa Marta.
His sudden death has shocked the world, both Christians and non-Christians alike, due to his exemplary personality and legacy.
However, before his death, Pope Francis had been battling a series of illnesses, ranging from diabetes and cardiovascular and respiratory issues to, most recently, a stroke.
He also suffered from a fracture in the knee and inflammation of its ligaments in 2022, which caused him to start using a wheelchair.
