Love Ogah, the daughter of Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel) General Overseer Bishop David Oyedepo, recalled a wonderful event that occurred some time ago when she was in secondary school.
The clergyman’s daughter was speaking on building a strong relationship with God during a service sermon and shared the story as an analogy to match her sermon.
According to Love, hired killers came to their house to kill her dad, Bishop David Oyedepo. They came in, rampaged the house, and went to her dad’s room. Though her dad was there in the room, they could not see him.
“I was in secondary school when it happened. One night, hired killers came to our home and clearly stated at the gate, ‘We are here to execute him’—referring to my father. Our house turned into a war zone,” she said.

She said her father was there, watching them the whole while they continued searching in vain for him. She recounted how scared she had been and what happened to her while she was hiding.
“He watched them the whole time, but they couldn’t see him. At one point, we hid behind the door, and it slammed into my face. My gum was torn, and my lip was bleeding,” she said.
“After hours of fear and chaos, the atmosphere shifted; my aunt rushed in crying, panicked and searching for my dad. Suddenly, he calmly walked out of his room. We thought it was a movie. He told us, ‘I was watching them the whole time.’ They had searched his room but didn’t see him.”
She reiterated the importance of knowing God personally so that when trying challenges come, which they always will, you will become victorious because you’re truly in God. She added that a relationship with God cannot be faked.
