The Federal Government’s De-radicalization, Rehabilitation, and Reintegration (DRR) center in Gombe State has reportedly graduated 390 repentant Boko Haram members.
The repentant Boko Haram members who promised to be reputable citizens after their previous heinous activities have been reintegrated into society to begin life as normal citizens.
NigerianBulletin reports that they were all given N50,000 each with some starter kits to aid their transition back into the society.

The repentant insurgents underwent counseling, vocational training, and civic education, and at the end of their rehabilitation course, they were found worthy of being reintegrated into the society.

According to the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, Operation Safe Corridor is a non-combative strategy that aims to stabilize security in the northeast.


The Commandant of the DRR camp, Col. Abiodun Johnson, revealed that all participants of the rehabilitation program had publicly denounced their ties to the insurgent group and pledged allegiance to Nigeria.
Out of the 390 graduates, 6 were foreigners from neighboring countries.

The Nigerian populace has rather shown displeasure and distrust for the newly integrated former insurgents, citing unfair treatment from the government to victims of insurgency, whereas those who carried out the act are treated kindly with rewards.
Questions about the ingenuity of the acclaimed repentant insurgents have been asked and debated.
