A Nigerian lady identified as Osarugbe has died in Libya from a severe illness.
According to reports, she died on Friday, April 4, 2025, at about 11:33 AM. The news of her demise was released by anti-human trafficking advocate Ms. Yakubu Oyiza.
Ms. Oyiza says she and her team had been raising money to bring her home to Nigeria for better medical treatment as hospitals in Libya rejected her. Unfortunately, she passed on.
What is more disturbing is that the lady’s family, after being contacted, have refused to show concern since she fell sick, even refusing to go pick her up in Kano the day she was supposed to return.

Now, upon her demise, the documents for her burial, autopsy, and land to bury her in Libya have been arranged but cost around N350,000.
According to Oyiza, the money was gathered and sent to Libya, but they are still asking for more, while the lady’s family has been calling for her properties.
She revealed the incident on a Facebook post, expressing her devastation over what the lady might have gone through with her family that made her run to Libya.

“Since yesterday, that I called Osa’s family and told them their sister passed, they haven’t called me back to ask how far.
“We sent 350k for her burial (to Libya) which they are still asking for more, but guess what? Osas’ family is calling for us to return her properties.
“They want her properties; we haven’t laid this girl to rest, but they are making trouble with us for someone I don’t know for properties.
“Most of these young girls that run to Libya have something chasing them. I am devastated,” the post read.
