The Senate President of Nigeria, Senator God’swill Akpabio, took to his Facebook page to celebrate his wife, Dr. Mrs. Ekaette Unoma Akpabio, who received an honorary doctorate degree from the University of Calabar, Calabar.
She received the honorary degree on Saturday, March 22, 2025, during the 37th convocation ceremony and the 50th anniversary of the institution.
In his post, Akpabio praised his wife, calling her his adviser, counselor, and steadfast companion, one who has been the quiet strength and support behind all of his public triumph.


Former governor of Rivers State and Minister of F.C.T. Nyesom Wike was also conferred an honorary degree in law.

Recall that after the Kogi Central lawmaker, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan accused Akpabio of sexual harassment, Mrs. Unoma Akpabio filed a N2 billion lawsuit against the suspended senator Natasha for defamation of character.
