Suspended Kogi Central lawmaker, senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has made another mind-blowing remark about the Senate President of Nigeria, Senator God’swill Akpabio.
Sahara Reporters reports that during an interview with BBC on Tuesday March 18, 2025, Mrs. Natasha restated her sexual harassment allegations against Akpabio, saying her suspension is a deliberate attempt to repress her.
She repeated the same story she told Arise TV to the BBC, narrating how the Senate president had held her hand in a “suggestive way”, thereby making inappropriate advances to her at his home in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, on his birthday night while her husband was present.

“We were at his country home. He was taking me around his house. My husband was walking behind us. He held my hand. He then squeezed my hands in a very suggestive way.
“We women, we know what it means when a man squeezes our hands in a suggestive way,” she said.
When asked if this was done only outside work environment, she said it happened also in the Chambers.
She said, “There was a time when I rushed to work and forgot to wear my ring. There were about five senators there. He said, ‘Oh Natasha, you are not wearing your ring; is this an invitation to treat?’ You know, statements like this.”
The issue concerning senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan and God’swill Akpabio had sparked heated debates among Nigerians, with many accusing her of always making sexual harassment claims. Sizeable number of Nigerians showed solidarity with her, demanding the Senate president to resign his position and be investigated.
After her scene at the plenary, which was the beginning of these dispute, she was summoned by the Senate Committee on Ethics, privileges and Public Petitions, but she refused to honor the invitation, which led to her six-month suspension with official benefits stripped her for the duration of her suspension.
Senator also made rounds on media after sneaking into the United Nations Inter-Parliamentary Union in New York to report her allegations against senator Akpabio, and her suspension which she termed “illegal”.
The president of the IPU had promised to look into her petition after hearing from the other side.
