Popular Human Rights lawyer and 2023 presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, accompanied the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Ushie Ruth, who has been trending recently after she was threatened by NYSC officials for calling the President of Nigeria, a terrible president.
Ruth’s video has sparked outrage in the country, as many have argued that she shouldn’t criticize the government while serving in its most cherished agencies. Others applauded her for her boldness, saying she simply spoke the truth.
A lot of Nigerians condemned her for calling President Tinubu a terrible president; however, Human Rights lawyer Omoyele Sowore, known for always standing up for the oppressed, vowed to protect her.

Ruth was invited by the Local Government Inspector (LGI) of her Place of Primary Assignment for her trending post and for also sharing the official’s texts with the public.
As promised, Sowore accompanied her with three other attorneys to the NYSC secretariat. However, the LGI was not present. According to Sowore, as he shared on his Facebook handle, the “LGI absconded, failing to show up throughout their stay.”
Sowore, before leaving the corps member with his team, assured her that he was ready to stand in for her as her legal representative.
