Controversial Anambra cleric, popularly known as Odumeje, whose original is Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, has opened up on his decision to run for president in the 2027 general elections.
Odumeje made his intentions known during a church service on Sunday, stating that the country needs a young and digital-minded leader, not these “old cargoes.”
He tipped himself for the race, with his congregation cheering him on as he asked them if they were ready for him. He also promised to construct a road called Citadel for his people.

“We need a young leader in this country, and I think I am coming out. We need a digital leader, not old cargoes. Am I sure you hear me? I think I will come out; I will come out for president.”
“Are you ready for me? Odumeje for president? Because I know what you need. I want to construct a main road called Citadel for you. I want to give you a modern life, a digital life.”
Odumeje, whom some see as a content creator and comedian, spoke seriously about his ambition to run for president, arguing that the current leaders are old and lack the sight to run a modern government.
The video of his declaration had gone viral, sparking reactions among netizens, with many passing it as one of his jokes.
