
The President of the 10th Senate, Senator God’swill Obot Akpabio, before the commencement of today’s plenary in the National Assembly denied Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s sexual harassment allegations.
Senator Akpabio while addressing the house in a statement, said he has not at any time sexually harassed any woman, be it Senator Natasha or another.
Akpabio said he and his siblings were raised by a single mother in a very tough condition, who taught them the values he grew up with and that he also has beautiful daughters; hence, he respects women.

The Senate President also recalled being awarded as the most gender-friendly governor in Nigeria during his tenure as governor of Akwa Ibom State, from 2007 to 2015.
He thanked his colleagues and friends that have called and shown solidarity to him and urged Nigerians, especially social media users, to refrain from jumping into conclusions from “matters of mere allegations” but allow the court to mete justice.
