The Deputy Chief Whip of the Nigerian 10th Senate, Senator Onyekachi Nwebonyi, has accused his colleague, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, of lying about her claim that the Senate President, God’swill Akpabio, sexually harassed her.
Senator Nwebonyi called Senator Natasha a liar after the female senator went on national TV to claim Akpabio had proposed to have a good time with her in his Uyo home on the day of his birthday and also asked her to make him happy before he could facilitate her motion.
On the day of the Senate President’s birthday, Senator Natasha claims Akpabio showed her around his home in Uyo and that her husband was present; however, Akpabio made a sexual appeal to her.
These claims have been refuted by Akpabio’s wife, Ekaette Unoma Akpabio, who took legal action against Senator Natasha for defamation.

“Senator Akpabio never harrased Senator Natasha; she is lying; I was there on the day of the housewarming,” Senator Nwebonyi said.
“We were about 20 senators, including Senator Natasha’s husband; there was never a time Senator Akpabio told Natasha anything related to sexual advances. I have challenged her on one platform to explain exactly what happened, and she couldn’t because I was with her and the husband all through and we drove back to Uyo in the same vehicle; she is lying.”
“What will Senator Akpabio be doing with such a woman, a mother of six children from six different fathers?” Senator Nwebonyi continued.
“She has accused Reno Omokri, Governor Yahaha Bello, and two others; now it’s Akpabio she is accusing of sexual harassment; is she the only woman in the world?”
“I am saying that Natasha is a liar; I was there with her and the husband all through the event; no such thing ever happened,” Senator Nwebonyi added.
