Kogi Central representative in the Red Chambers, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has insisted that her probe in the Senate’s Ethics and Disciplinary Committee must be broadcast live for transparency.
The Senator, who over the week has been on the news for her actions in the Senate House during a proceeding, believes she is on the right; however, she does not trust her colleagues to be fair in judgment.
Recall that Igbo TV had reported that the Senate President of the 10th Senate, God’swill Obot Akpabio, had ordered that Senator Natasha be escorted out of the chambers after she refused to take the new seat allocated to her but rather challenged the Senate President in what was described as derogatory.
Videos of the incident had circulated the internet, and Nigerians had been drawn into debates and sides, with some condemning the Senate President’s response, while others believed the female senator behaved rather unruly, which is unacceptable.

The Ethics and Disciplinary Committee of the hallowed chambers would be investigating the issue, and Senator wants that to be done openly for the nation to see.
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan was responding to a petition written by the Northern Youths Advocacy for Excellence (NOYAD), demanding the Senate to “investigate and discipline” Senator Natasha over “corruption, breach of trust and victimisation of local content committee staff.”
In her response tweet on Thursday, she wrote saying; “This petition came to my notice a few hours ago.
“In as much as I have refrained from publicly speaking on the matter and a lot of occurrences at the Senate under Senate President Akpabio, it’s about time I break my silence.”
“Arise News, set a date and I shall be in your studio in person. Spare no questions,” she wrote.
“And to Nigerians, please be sure to join the probe which I shall insist would be covered live.
“The next few days and weeks shall be interesting but will shape the standard and quality of Nigeria’s leadership.”
She also called on national TV to invite her and ask her questions concerning the matter, and that no questions should be spared.
Just few days ago, the Edo State lawmaker’s lawyer had filed a N100 billion lawsuit against Senate President God’swill Akpabio and his aide for defamation, after the aide made a post on his social media handle accusing Senator Natasha of often wearing revealing dresses to legislative proceedings. A post which many frowned at, and termed as “sexist”. The aide deleted the post and his social media handle instantly.
