The Nigerian gospel film industry is in mourning following the death of their actress Toluwalope Adegboyega-Alagbe, popularly known as Flora for her role in the acclaimed movie series “Abattoir.”
Nollywood actress Toluwalope, popularly known for her role in the movie “Abattoir” passed away on the 4th of February 2025, following a car accident on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in December.
Her death was confirmed by one Joshua Mike-Bamiloye, son of Mike Bamiloye, founder of the Mount Zion Faith Drama Ministry where Flora worked, confirmed her death in a post on X.com on Wednesday.

Joshua wrote; “It’s been a few quiet days for me here. I am still struggling to process the passing of Toluwalope – a fellow drama minister and a light in this world. It’s heartbreaking and difficult to understand, but even in our pain, we continue to trust Him. It was a short run but with a lasting impact. My heart goes out to her family. I pray the Lord Himself will comfort them beyond what words can express.”
In addition to Joshua’s statement, Flora’s colleagues in the movie industry have also begun to pay tribute. Fellow actor Oluwaseun Adejumobi recalled his time working with her in a post on Instagram.
In the pain of his loss, Adejumobi wrote; “Aburo mi, Toluwalope, you fought a good fight and lived to impact. You were always willing to serve. I have read through your messages again and again – you would always say, ‘Egbon, e pe mi fun location’ meaning ~ My brother, please invite me for a movie shoot.
Adejumobi pointed out that Flora was a very lively person, that even while she was at the hospital following the accident, she was so still as lively. She kept up with strong affirmations, saying “God will rescue me from this accident and I will give a big testimony thereafter.”
“You left us with questions in our hearts. Still, God is God, and He is a just God! We celebrate the life you lived and the impact you made! This is a painful exit. This is a shock! We take solace in the fact that you have gone to be with your Maker. Goodnight, Sister Tolu. Goodnight, Iya Ibeji. Goodnight, Flora.”
Flora’s death is indeed a shocking and painful one to all. Her family and friends are in a state of mourning and quietude. For now, no further information has been discussed.
