Canada Denies Visa to Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff, Christopher Musa, and Senior Military Officials

The Canadian government has refused visa applications submitted by Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, and several high-ranking military officials.

General Musa made this revelation on Thursday while speaking at the inaugural annual lecture of the National Association of the Institute for Security Studies (AANISS) in Abuja.

Expressing his disappointment, the Chief of Defence Staff described the incident as both embarrassing and disheartening.

“Every setback comes with a lesson. I was supposed to be in Canada yesterday for an event honoring our wounded veterans. Our delegation was invited, but while some members were granted visas, others were denied. It’s truly disappointing,” Musa stated.

He emphasized that this experience should serve as a wake-up call for Nigeria to become more self-reliant.

“This is a reminder for us to stand firm as a nation, build our strength, and ensure we are never taken for granted,” he added.
