Tochi Wigwe, daughter of the late Herbert Wigwe, has shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, marking one year since the tragic helicopter crash that claimed the lives of her father, mother (Doreen Wigwe), and brother (Chizi Wigwe).
In her post, she reflected on the emotional turmoil she has faced over the past year, describing it as a period filled with laughter, tears, joy, anger, and sadness. Despite the grief, she expressed her determination to find strength and become a solid support system for her younger siblings.
To honor the memory of her family, Tochi announced the release of a collection of coffee table tribute books.
These books, she explained, are curated reflections that bring to life cherished personal memories and serve as a tangible way to commemorate the lives and impact of her parents and brother.

Herbert Wigwe, the former Group Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings Plc, his wife, and son tragically lost their lives in a helicopter crash near Halloran Springs, California, on February 9, 2024.
The crash, which also claimed the lives of former Nigerian Exchange Group chairman Abimbola Ogunbanjo and two crew members, was linked to poor weather conditions, including a mix of rain and snow.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) investigation revealed that the helicopter, which took off from Palm Springs, lost altitude and increased in speed before crashing. Witnesses traveling on Interstate 15 reported seeing a “fireball” at the site of the crash.
Tochi Wigwe wrote in her post;
“It has been a year since I lost the three greatest pillars in my life – my father, Herbert Wigwe; my mother, Doreen Wigwe; and my brother, Chizi Wigwe.
In the last 12 months, I’ve lived through a lifetime of emotions:
laughter, tears, joy, anger, and sadness. But most of all, I’ve grappled with the challenge of finding my way back to happiness, rediscovering who I am, and embracing the strength I need to become a solid foundation for my younger siblings.
The coffee table tribute books are curated reflections, which bring to life personal memories.
They tangibly honor my family and the profound impact they had on all of us.
