The English football federation announced the appointment of Thomas Tuchel as the national team head coach on Wednesday 16th of October following the resignation of Gareth Southgate after the 2024 Euro tournament.
Tuchel 51 has coached Borussia Dortmund, PSG, Chelsea and Bayern Munich. He won the champions league with Chelsea in 2021 but was sacked the following season due to Chelsea’s poor performance, he was also sacked by Bayern Munich and PSG.
Tuchel in his speech said coaching the English national team is his long time dream because he sees himself as part of the country, for the time he spent in the country and he is ever ready to work with the super stars the team have.
Tuchel promise to bring out the best out of each player, and he is optimistic the national team will do well in the next tournament which is of course the 2026 world cup.

The question here is can tuchel end England’s long wait for a trophy? Because the only thing that is left for the English national team is to win a a trophy, they have lost back to back Euro finals and have been to the world cup semi final.
What the English fans want is a trophy with the quality of players they have, the best any coach can offer them is to land a trophy and of course they will be aiming to see the world cup trophy come to London.
