Igbo Tv has received reports of a tragic incident which unfolded in the Amukpe area of Sapele Local Government, Delta State, about a 23-year-old man, identified simply as Success, allegedly hacked his father with a cutlass in a dispute over ₦5,000.
The incident, which occurred on Sunday, January 12, 2025, has left the local community in shock.
Reports indicate that the altercation arose when the father refused to provide the requested sum of N5000, prompting the suspect to attack him with a cutlass.
Neighbors reportedly intervened, rushing the severely injured father to the hospital. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries the following day, Monday, January 13.

The Delta State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of the suspect. The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, stated, “The incident occurred on Sunday, but the father passed away today (Monday). Success is currently in custody.”
This heartbreaking case has sparked discussions about rising youth frustration and financial pressures in Nigeria.
The police have assured the public of a thorough investigation as the case proceeds to court, where the suspect will face justice.
