Two persons who were on a mission to steal streetlights were electrocuted in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
The thieves had gone to steal streetlights around the New Site of Niger Delta University (NDU) and Ogobiri roundabout in Ogobiri community, in the usual manner which has become the norm these days.
Their plights was discovered the next morning, where they were badly roasted beyond recognition. One was burnt to ashes, and only the form of his body on the ground proved it was a human, while the other was badly burnt.

According to reports and information from eyewitnesses, the thieves had undone four poles of streetlights, and were about removing the fifth when they met their waterloo.
It is reported that, as they removed the fifth pole, it fell unto a nearby High tension which had power, and so they were electrocuted.
They died unfortunately and left the five streetlights. The other body that was badly burnt was taken to the morgue.
