In a video which has gone viral, and have sparked mixed reactions and debate among internet Christians, senior pastor of the New Life Assembly, Pastor Chris Delvan was seen laying hands on popular gospel singer, Victoria Orenze.
The ordination had the presence of award-winning gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey, and Bishop Wale Oke who joined Pastor Delvan to lay hands upon Minister Victoria Orenze now Apostle Victoria Orenze, while she knelt on the altar.
Some of the reactions indicates disapproval, with many arguing that it is unbiblical for a woman to hold the authority of an Apostle.
Some ridiculed the fact that a pastor is the one ordaining an Apostle, instead of vice versa. They argue that it is not in the whims of a pastor to ordain an Apostle which is a higher office in the church of God than that of a pastor.
However, many have approved of it. Pointing out that she is a great servant of God.
