“I will do whatever it takes to ensure Tinubu releases Nnamdi Kanu – Bianca Ojukwu

Bianca Ojukwu has promised that she will do whatever it takes to make sure Tinubu releases Nnamdi Kanu.

The Wife of former secession instigator, leader of Biafra, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu during the 13th memorial of her husband in Owerri, Imo State, promised the people of Igbo ethnic group that she would make sure Nnamdi Kanu is released by Pesident Tinubu.

Bianca Ojukwu who is currently serving as a Minister of State for Foreign Affairs under the Tinubu-led administration during the event, frowned at the perpetrators of insecurity and violence in the Southeast of Nigeria.

She pointed out that what is happening in the Igboland (the violence and the sit-at-homes) is not what Ojukwu had fought for. That instead of destroying each other, the Igbo people should unite and reclaim their their land.

“Communities are empty. Our illustrious sons and daughters have fled. Kidnappers now abduct their brothers for ransom. This is not what Dim Ojukwu fought for.

“Ndigbo are enterprising and their brother’s keepers. We must reclaim our land and continue to propagate the ideals for which Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu stood,” she said.

Speaking on Nnamdi Kanu the current leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) who was repatriated from Kenya in 2021 and detained by the Federal Government of Nigeria since 2022, to face terrorism charges at the Federal High Court in Abuja, Mrs. Ojukwu averred that Tinubu will release Nnamdi Kanu.

She claimed that Tinubu understands the importance of releasing Nnamdi Kanu, which is to expose those criminals using his detention and the IPOB ideology to foster insecurity in the Southeast, and promised to do whatever it takes to make sure the IPOB leader regains his freedom.

“President Tinubu understands the importance of Kanu’s release. It will expose the masqueraders behind the violence and help restore order. I will do whatever it takes to ensure His Excellency (Tinubu) grants this request.

“The release of Nnamdi Kanu is paramount to separating genuine freedom fighters from criminals causing mayhem in the South-east. Our people face existential threats, and we must act to restore peace,” she explained.

Nnamdi Kanu had been on the Federal Government’s wanted list since the early period of Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, for his secession ideals which were socially unacceptable.

He is alleged to have incited violence and terrorism and refusing to comply with Nigerian Government orders and appeal.

He was first arrested in 2015, and later while on the run, was extradited from Kenya by the Kenyan authorities back to Nigeria, where he has since been in detention and facing terrorism charges at the Federal High Court Abuja.
