Governor Umo Eno’s Late wife was interred today – Details of the Event
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno paid his last respects to his late wife Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno today at Ikot Ekpene Ubom, Nsit Ubium Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
The event which had in attendance the Vice President of Nigeria, Kashim Shettima and his wife, Nana Shettima; the Senate President of Nigeria, God’swill Obot Akpabio, with some members of NASS; former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan with his wife Patience Jonathan; former Akwa Ibom State governor, Deacon Udom Emmanuel, and lots of other dignitaries in Nigeria.
Governor of Rivers State, Simi Fubara, Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed; Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma and Abia State Governor Alex Otti, were all present to pay their last respects to their colleague’s late wife.
In his speech, Governor Umo Eno described his wife as his anchor and the one who held his morals up.
“You were my anchor, the one who could tell me what was right and what was wrong. With your death, part of me is gone, but I will cherish the memories we shared forever,” he said.
The Governor continued to speak emotionally, saying; “Today, as we bid you farewell, the whole world is here, celebrating your memory. As I look at our children and grandchildren, I take consolation in the fact that the journey that began 40 years ago has been one of growth and immeasurable blessings. We will be fine.”
He also vowed not to refer to his wife in the past, as she will always be his ‘Oluwakemi’.
“I will never describe you in past tense. You will always be my ‘Oluwakemi,’ alive in my mind, fresh in my thoughts, and warm in my heart,” he added, his voice filled with emotion,” he said.
Also speaking was the wife of the Vice president of Nigeria, Mrs. Nana Shettima, who spoke of Her late Excellency’s contribution to humanity.
Her Excellency, late Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno reportedly passed away on the Thursday, September 26, 2024. She was 57 years of age before she passed on, and have been married to Pastor Umo Eno for over 37 years, with six children and grandchildren to mourn her demise.
Note that Pastor Umo Eno resumed office as the Governor of Akwa Ibom State on the 29th of May, 2023, succeeding Deacon Udom Emmanuel.
