What should have been a joyful match day for United fans, ended in a frustrating draw against newly admitted side Ipswich Town.

With an early goal within 3 minutes of kick off time by Rashford who haven’t been in his best since last year, Manchester United fans were already hailing their new coach, hinting his trails in Sporting CP.

However, the whole of the Half time saw Man Utd struggling to keep pace with the home side at Portman Road.

The new Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim started off with a totally different formation; 3-4-2-1, yet the style of play looked nothing different from the former coach Ten Hag; sluggish and weak.

With De ligt, Evans and Mazzroui to hold the defense; Casemiro, Eriksen, Dalot and Amad held the central midfield role, both Amad and Dalot at the sides moving forward and serving as side backs.

Bruno and Garnacho were at the attacking midfield position, while Rashford who after his early goal became ineffective in the match held the forward position.

Ipswich Town dominated much of the Half time, equalizing denying United a Half time lead few minutes before the end of Half time.

Man United became more serious in the second half, dominating and playing more with purpose, yet could not find the back of the net.

The match later ended in a 1-1 draw.

Will Amorim put things right for Manchester United after this disappointing show?

Good news is, most the of team’s players who had been absent due to injury are back, including Luke Shaw and Mason Mount who were introduced into the game at 56 and 86 minutes of the game, respectively.

The Old Trafford side now sits 12th on the league table with 16 points, 15 points behind Liverpool who are ontop of the table.
