The battle of who is the GOAT between Ronaldo and Messi will never end. Even if it stops for a while, something will always light its sparks back.
And fans of the two stars never agree the other is better than theirs.
Rodri, the Manchester City midfielder once again, rekindled the GOAT debate after winning the 2024 Ballon d’Or.
During an interview, Rodri was asked who he thinks is the Greatest Of All Time, he replied saying, “Messi. No doubts.”
He went on further to explain while quickly picks Messi as the GOAT of football.
According to him, everything Ronaldo has achieved or done on the football pitch, he only struggled to match with Messi, due to his hard-work and resilience.
For him, Ronaldo has no talent, compared to Messi who is a natural footballer.
He recalled his moments playing against the two while in Atletico Madrid. Saying, Ronaldo is only dangerous when he is inside the box, however, Messi is dangerous with the ball wherever he is on the pitch.
“Cristiano Ronaldo was able to match Lionel Messi without any natural talent, but as players who faced them both, we know the difference. With Cristiano, we didn’t want him to enter the box because he was deadly there. But with Messi, he would be dangerous with getting the ball anywhere on the pitch,” Rodri said.
This statement of his, have stirred a lot of reactions among fans of both parties.

Ronaldo’s fans, however, are displeased with such comments, pointing to younger Ronaldo’s days in Sporting Lisbon and Manchester United, where he displayed so much skills and talent, and even his days in Real Madrid.
In a quest to disproof Rodri’s claims, fans of Ronaldo have posted former videos of their hero, and how much dangerous he was even outside the box.
A Twitter influencer with the handle @Trey tweeted saying: “God please I don’t want any talent if Cristiano Ronaldo is what no talent looks like”
In another post, Trey went ahead to list Ronaldo’s achievements:

-Most goals in International football history.
-Most goals in Euros History.
-Most goals in Football history.
-5 Ballon D’ors.
-33 Career trophies.
All without any talent, that’s why he’s my GOAT🐐❤️”
Another fan said with a laugh emoji: “Cristiano Ronaldo managing to score 910 goals without ‘natural talent’ and not being a ‘pure’ footballer is an insane achievement 😂.”
Many others have continued to post videos of Ronaldo’s skillful ball play, saying if he did all these without an iota of talent, then he his the GOAT.
