President Bola Tinubu has sent a fresh list of non-career ambassadorial nominees to the Senate, adding names that were not in the earlier list released by the presidency.
Among the new nominees is Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, former Chief of Naval Staff and immediate-past Sole Administrator of Rivers State. Also included are ex-Senator Ita Enang, former Imo First Lady Chioma Ohakim, and Abdulrahman Dambazau, a former Minister of Interior and Chief of Army Staff.

Tinubu’s letter was read on the Senate floor by Senate President God’swill Akpabio, who urged lawmakers to give the nominees quick consideration so key diplomatic postings can be filled without delay.
Akpabio immediately forwarded the list to the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, asking them to screen the nominees and report back within one week.
This new batch comes just days after Tinubu also nominated Reno Omokri, Femi Fani-Kayode, and former INEC chairman Mahmood Yakubu as non-career ambassadors.
