BREAKING: Gunmen Kidnap Six Real Estate Agents in Ogun — Police

The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, has confirmed the kidnapping of six real estate agents in Oyebola village, Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of the state.

Speaking in a brief phone chat with Punch Online, the CP explained that the victims, who work with a Lagos-based real estate company, were abducted on Friday while inspecting a parcel of land belonging to their firm.

A resident from a nearby community had earlier raised an alarm about the incident, saying the marketers were taken by gunmen who invaded the area during the inspection. The resident, however, pleaded not to be named.

Confirming the attack, CP Ogunlowo said the marketers had been brought from Lagos to familiarise themselves with the land so they could properly market it to interested buyers. However, the routine visit turned tragic when armed men struck.

“It was during this visit to the land that the six people were kidnapped. It happened on Friday,” he said. “The command has been on the matter since then, and we will definitely ensure these people regain their freedom.”

The police assured that efforts are ongoing to track down the kidnappers and rescue the victims safely.
