Terrorists on Saturday launched another violent attack along the Isanlu Makutu–Idofin highway in Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State, throwing travellers and nearby communities into panic.
Witnesses said the gunmen struck without warning in the afternoon, forcing motorists to abandon their vehicles and flee into nearby bushes. The exact number of those abducted could not be immediately confirmed, as details around the incident remain unclear.
Residents told reporters that fear has gripped the surrounding communities, with many people staying indoors and travellers diverting to alternative routes to avoid the troubled corridor. Security agencies were said to have been notified, and operatives were mobilising to the scene at the time of filing this report.

The latest attack comes barely days after coordinated assaults by armed men along major Kogi highways. On Thursday, security forces rescued 21 passengers, including women and a nine-day-old baby, after bandits ambushed multiple vehicles across the same axis.
The earlier incident had seen more than 100 armed men target several vehicles, among them a Toyota Sienna travelling from Oshogbo to Kaduna, two Toyota Hiace buses heading to Abuja and Ekiti, a Carina from Lokoja to Kabba, a Dangote truck transporting cement, and a J5 laden with pepper.
A joint response team (comprising troops of the 12 Brigade Nigerian Army, the Quick Response Unit, NSCDC operatives, local vigilantes and hunters) engaged the attackers in a fierce gunfight that left a soldier and a vigilante dead.
Security analysts say the repeated assaults highlight the growing insecurity along the Isanlu–Idofin corridor, urging authorities to intensify operations before the situation deteriorates further.
