BREAKING: 24 Abducted Kebbi Schoolgirls Regain Freedom — Meanwhile, No Arrests Have Been Made

President Bola Tinubu has expressed relief following the safe return of 24 schoolgirls kidnapped last week from their school in Maga, Kebbi State. The students were abducted at dawn on November 17, only hours after a military team stationed at the school had departed.

According to a statement released on Tuesday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, their rescue comes at a time when other states are battling similar attacks.

In Kwara State, all 38 worshippers kidnapped in Eruku were freed on Sunday, while in Niger State, 50 students abducted from a Catholic school have also been reunited with their families.

President Tinubu praised security agencies for the successful rescue missions, urging them to intensify efforts to track down and free any remaining victims still held by terrorists. He stressed that preventing further kidnappings must now be treated as a national priority.

“I am relieved that all 24 girls have been accounted for. We must move swiftly to strengthen security in vulnerable communities and ensure this does not happen again. My government stands ready to support all security operations necessary to keep our children safe,” he said.

The Federal Government reaffirmed its commitment to protecting schools and rural communities from terrorist attacks, promising continuous support to security operatives working across affected regions.
