Nigeria’s afropop queen, producer and songwriter, Tiwatope Omolara Savage a.k.a Tiwa Savage says she once rejected a Range Rover gift from a guy on her birthday.
She was speaking with an anchor at The Beat FM frequency 99.9 Lagos State.
The anchor asked her several questions about her life and style, including her best kind of men, which you chose slim, tall and dark.
When she was asked the most expensive gift she ever got, she said, “I have gotten a car before, but I returned it; a Range Rover for my birthday.”
According to her, the reason she couldn’t keep the car was because she wasn’t feeling the guy, so she didn’t want to be getting calls for which she wouldn’t give in to.
“ ‘Cause I wasn’t feeling the guy, and I don’t wanna lead him on.
“I also didn’t wanna keep it, because, you know, if they keep calling me and I don’t answer, then he can come and pick up the car,” she said.
So it was best she returned the car.
The anchor asked her jokingly if he got her a car, whether she would return it. She replied saying she would not, and if the guy comes to get it back, she would send security to chase him out.
A follower reacted saying, “if you’re not interested in a man, don’t accept gifts from him.”
Another said,” Women hardly say No to Money and gifts, Good thing she returned it, This should be a lesson to pick up.”
Some men have reacted negatively towards the giver. A guy with the handle @dmasterdon2 replied with, “E no go better for that idiot way gift her the Range Rover”.
