Sen. Ndume Lambasts Tinubu Govt Over Poor Leadership

Senator Ali Ndume, the Chief Whip of the Nigerian Senate, has taken a swipe at President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, accusing it of being run by individuals lacking competence and integrity.

In a recent interview, the Borno South lawmaker lamented that since the Tinubu government came into power, Nigeria has been without ambassadors in several countries and has no effective representative at the United Nations.

“Since this government came into office, we don’t have ambassadors anywhere. We don’t even have a representative at the United Nations,” Ndume said. “The government is dominated by kakistocrats and kleptocrats. If you want to see the President, they will ask you, ‘How much?’”

Ndume, a founding member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), accused some presidential aides of isolating the President from the realities of the Nigerian people. According to him, many within the government appear more focused on personal enrichment than national progress.

“The President needs people who will tell him the truth, not those who only say what he wants to hear,” Ndume said. “Nigerians are suffering. People are hungry, and the government seems disconnected from their pain.”

Political analysts suggest that Ndume’s remarks mirror growing internal frustration within the APC, particularly over the government’s handling of economic challenges, insecurity, and widespread unemployment.
