An awaiting trial inmate, identified as Dung Bulus Pam, reportedly died overnight at the Kuje Correctional Centre, Abuja, according to SaharaReporters. His death occurred in the same clinic where Nnamdi Kanu’s special counsel, Aloy Ejimakor, is said to be receiving medical attention after being allegedly assaulted by the police.

Sources within the prison told SaharaReporters that Pam’s cause of death remains unknown, though he had been remanded by police prosecutor Musa Adama—the same officer handling the case of 13 #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protesters and activist Omoyele Sowore.

“Adama is known for framing poor Nigerians and dumping them in prison for years without trial. One of them just died today,” a source lamented.

Ejimakor, who was arrested last Monday alongside 12 others, including Nnamdi Kanu’s younger brother, was said to have been brutalized during the peaceful protest demanding Kanu’s release. He has since been in critical condition, with a neck brace fitted by prison medics.

Reports say a Kuje Magistrate, Abubakar Umar Sa’id, granted bail to Ejimakor and the others but allegedly refused to sign their bail bond, leaving them in custody. Human rights advocates have condemned the development, calling for justice for the deceased inmate and the immediate release of those detained.

Ejimakor remains under medical care in the Kuje prison clinic as concerns grow over his worsening health.
