Afrobeats queen Tiwa Savage has stirred conversation across social media after openly declaring that she would not mind being a second wife.
Speaking on the Lip Service podcast, which aired earlier this week, the 45-year-old music star said most of the men who approach her are either much older or already married.
“If I meet somebody who can really marry me, they are either in their 50s or already married. So, I don’t know, maybe I can be a second wife,” she said with a laugh.

Savage, who was once married to music executive Tunji ‘TBillz’ Balogun, explained that her stance stems from respect and maturity, not desperation. She emphasized that she would have no issues coexisting peacefully with a first wife as long as mutual respect is maintained.
“I’m not going to be troublesome. I’ll be going on tours, I won’t stress you. I’m very respectful, and I know you’re the first wife,” she added.
Her comments have since sparked widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians debating polygamy, evolving relationship dynamics, and the societal pressures women face as they grow older.
Tiwa Savage and TBillz were married in 2013 and divorced in 2018. Their union produced a son.
