Residents of Kamazou, Kaduna State, were thrown into panic after suspected thieves attempted to rob a compound in the early hours of Friday, escaping narrowly and abandoning gas cylinders and a generator.
The incident, which reportedly occurred around 3:30 a.m., was shared on Facebook by a resident, Mary Zinta Kogi, who narrated how she woke up to use the restroom and heard faint noises outside her home.
“At first, I thought I was imagining things,” she wrote. “But a few minutes later, our neighbors called out, telling us to come and see that our gas cylinders and generator were already by the gate, ready for pickup.”

According to her, the residents stayed alert and later noticed the robbers returning on a motorcycle to collect the stolen items. “My husband and some neighbors rushed at them, but one escaped on foot while the other two sped off on the bike,” she said.
Kogi added that their security dog didn’t bark throughout the incident, fueling fears that the thieves might have used charms to silence it.
The story has since sparked debate online, with many users suggesting the robbery could have been an inside job, while others warned residents to be extra cautious as nighttime burglaries are becoming more rampant in the Nigeria.
