“Nnamdi Kanu deserves no pity" — Joe Igbokwe Says, Urging Government Not to Release the IPOB Leader, Claims He is a Tɛrrorist, Cautions Sowore to Stay Back

All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Joe Igbokwe, has renewed his opposition to the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

In a series of Facebook posts on Thursday, Igbokwe described Kanu as a “terrorist” who should not be granted pardon or sympathy, accusing him of causing widespread violence and destruction across the South-East through his directives.

“A man who led Igbo youths to kill our people, burn homes, destroy markets and businesses for nearly 10 years does not deserve pity or pardon,” Igbokwe wrote.

The former Special Adviser on Drainage to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu also dismissed claims that Kanu is seriously ill, saying the reports were fabricated to secure his release.

“Nnamdi Kanu is 110% fine. All these claims about his health are lies from the pit of hell. Let’s stop deceiving ourselves,” he stated.

Igbokwe also cautioned activist Omoyele Sowore against leading the planned #FreeNnamdiKanu protest slated for October 20, arguing that such an action would dishonor the memory of those allegedly killed due to Kanu’s influence.

“Kanu deserves no pity, only fair treatment under the law,” he added. “He incited violence against Nigeria and Nigerians, and must face justice for his actions.”

The renewed comments come amid growing agitation from rights groups and political figures calling for Kanu’s unconditional release.

  1. The radical Kanu must tender unreserved apology to Nigerians as a whole and seek forgiveness from the families his actions had caused their families, friends and relatives unbearable loss.
    God bless Nigeria.
