The Nigerian Senate has unsealed the office of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, signaling a possible return to legislative duties after months of suspension.

Her office, located in Room 205 of the Senate wing, was reopened on Monday by the Sergeant-at-Arms with support from security personnel. The move restores her access to the National Assembly complex and strengthens expectations that she may soon resume fully.

Akpoti-Uduaghan had earlier threatened legal action if she was not allowed back by September 15, 2025. Through her lawyer, Michael Jonathan Numa, SAN, she warned of contempt proceedings, breach of conduct charges, and other legal remedies against the Clerk of the National Assembly.

The Clerk, however, had maintained that her suspension, which began on March 6, 2025, remained a matter before the Court of Appeal. He insisted that no administrative steps could be taken until the judicial process was concluded.

Despite that stance, the reopening of her office marks a shift in momentum in her favor, after months of legal tussles and political friction.

The development comes amid growing pressure for her reinstatement and raises hopes among her supporters that she could soon return to the Senate chamber to continue her legislative work.
