Former Rivers State governor and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has debunked claims that he acquired and owns three luxurious properties in the United States of America under the names of his wife and children.
Speaking on Channels TV Politics Today with Seun Okinbaloye, Wike argued that there are no records of him acquiring properties in the U.S. despite former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore revealing documents showing the properties and location bought.
Wike said his wife, children and wife’s parents are American citizens, that he doesn’t even like going to America.
He said this same issue was brought up in 2007 when he was contesting in election, and when his wife was being conferred a chief judge at the Court of Appeal.

Wike claimed his wife’s parents might have decided to gift their child and grandchildren houses, that there is no prove that he bought houses in America using their names.
He also argued that since his wife and children are Americans, they may buy properties there, that it’s none of his business.
Seun drew his attention to the cost of the three mansions which clearly his children who are not actively employed cannot afford, nor his wife could. Wike held on that he has no such knowledge of properties being acquired.
Recall that Igbo TV had reported that former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore had petitioned Florida Attorney General over Wike’s alleged money laundering, purchasing three mansions and transferring them to his children and wife, an offence punishable in the U.S. laws.
