Blogger and CEO of KAA Truths has shared how he successfully recovered ₦50,000 from a lady who allegedly duped him under the pretext of buying a dress for a planned date.
In a post shared on Facebook, KAA narrated that a woman he met through a friend persistently asked him to take her out on a date. When he finally agreed, she requested ₦40,000 for a date dress. Out of generosity, he said he sent ₦50,000 instead.
According to him, immediately after receiving the money, the lady stopped communicating and ignored his messages for days. When she eventually replied, her excuses did not make sense. He shared screenshot from his chat with the lady and the receipt of the ₦50,000 he sent her.

Feeling deceived, KAA decided to involve his lawyer. He said legal letters were issued and preparations to go to court began. The lady eventually refunded the full amount.
“What embarrassed me most was that she scammed me for only ₦50k. Imagine her bragging to friends about duping me of such a small amount. If it were ₦500k, at least I would have respected her boldness,” he wrote.
KAA stressed that collecting transport fare, dress money, or any form of “date advance” without showing up amounts to fraud and could lead to legal consequences.
“It’s better to ask for a favor than to obtain by false pretense,” he warned, adding that some men are willing to go to great lengths to prove a point.
