A viral video has sparked debates among Nigerians online concerning the proper way to which a man should propose to his woman.
In the video, a young man surprised his girlfriend, spent some money to organize a proposal ceremony without the knowledge of the lady.
When the girlfriend arrived, she was elated, however, moods would soon change when the young man took out the ring and started asking the question, “will you marry me?”

While the girlfriend was still sitting, enjoying the moment, the young man stood and proposed. The girl asked him why he was standing, that he was supposed to kneel down and propose.
The guy insisted on standing, the lady got furiated and started shouting at him, and walked off.
A lot of people have condemned the guy’s attitude, labelling it as pride. While many others believe the guy has been saved from a bad wife. Others argued it is not in our culture for a man to kneel and propose.
In another video, the young man explained that he had his reasons for not kneeling down, however, he was disappointed by those who condemned him as being proud.
